A look at some of the companies that made headlines after the close: F5 — Tech stocks surged 14% in after-hours trading after the company reported strong quarterly results. F5 reported third-quarter adjusted earnings of $3.36 per share, beating LSEG’s expectations of $2.97 per share. Revenue also came in at $695 million, beating expectations of $686 million. Lattice Semiconductor — Shares of this chip stock fell more than 10% in after-hours trading after the company reported disappointing earnings. Lattice reported adjusted earnings of 23 cents per share, 1 cent below LSEG’s expectations, and revenue also fell short of expectations. Third-quarter revenue guidance also fell short of analysts’ expectations. Chesapeake Energy — The gas company fell less than 1% after reporting revenue that missed expectations. Sprouts Farmers Market — The supermarket chain saw its shares rise more than 13% in after-hours trading after reporting a strong earnings report. Sprouts posted second-quarter earnings of 94 cents per share, beating LSEG’s forecast by 16 cents. Revenue was $1.89 billion, beating the expected $1.84 billion. Hologic — Shares fell 6% after the medical imaging company issued disappointing guidance for the fourth quarter. Hologic forecast adjusted earnings of 97 cents to $1.04 per share for the period, and revenue of $970 million to $985 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected earnings of $1.04 per share and revenue of $1 billion.
