Let’s take a look at the companies that made headlines after the bell rang.
WD-40 Company — Shares rose 11% after the metal lubricant maker reported third-quarter results that beat analysts’ expectations. WD-40 posted earnings of $1.46 a share on revenue of $155 million, beating analysts’ expectations of $1.39 a share on revenue of $145.8 million, according to FactSet.
PriceSmart — The members-only warehouse club operator’s shares rose 6% after it reported better-than-expected third-quarter profit and revenue. PriceSmart earned adjusted earnings of $1.08 a share, compared with analysts surveyed by FactSet’s forecast of $1.01 a share. The company’s revenue of $1.23 billion also beat the consensus estimate of $1.21 billion.
Costco Wholesale — Shares rose 3% after the membership-based retail chain announced its first membership price increase since 2017. Costco said it would raise annual membership fees by $5, bringing the price up to $10 for its top plan.
About Semiconductors, Microchip Technology — Semiconductor stocks both fell 2% in after-hours trading, a sharp reversal from their big gains in regular trading, when they rose 4.2% and 3.9%, respectively, in regular trading.
