Let’s check out the companies that are becoming a hot topic for after-hours trading. CHUBB — The property and casualty insurer rose nearly 6% after Berkshire Hathaway said it bought about 26 million shares of the Zurich-based company worth $6.7 billion. Chubb became Berkshire’s ninth-largest holding at the end of March, according to new regulatory filings. AST SpaceMobile — Stock price soared 33%. AST SpaceMobile announced a commercial agreement with AT&T to bring its space-based broadband network directly to everyday mobile phones. AT&T stock was little changed. The company also posted a loss of 16 cents per share in the first quarter, which was smaller than expected, compared to a loss of 23 cents per share in the year-ago period. Cisco Systems — Shares rose nearly 5% after the IT giant reported adjusted fiscal year earnings of 88 cents per share on revenue of $12.7 billion. The results beat analysts’ estimates for earnings of 82 cents per share and revenue of $12.53 billion, LSEG said. B. Riley Financial — The Los Angeles-based middle market investment bank fell 2% after posting a loss of $1.71 per share in the first quarter, reversing its net income of 51 cents a year earlier. Riley received a Nasdaq delinquency notice in March, but kept its quarterly dividend unchanged at 50 cents a share after it was cut in half in February. HAWKINS — The Minnesota-based chemical maker saw sales decline 6% in its fiscal fourth quarter, after declining 2% year-over-year. Management cautioned about the industrial business over the next 12 months, saying: “While we remain cautiously optimistic about the industrial sector, economic and competitive pressures continue to weigh on many customers, impacting demand. I think it will give us the same amount of money.” Palo Alto Networks — Shares rose 1% after this cybersecurity company announced it would buy cloud security software assets from IBM. The move is part of a broader partnership that will give Palo Alto access to more consultants and a larger customer base. IBM stock was little changed. —CNBC’s Scott Schnipper contributed reporting
