The order will see Suzlon install 370 S144 wind turbines, each with a rated output of 3.15 MW, to power three million homes.
The project will be implemented at three locations in Gujarat, according to an exchange filing by the company.

This landmark partnership reaffirms our commitment to accelerate India’s renewable energy transition. Notably, this is our first direct wind energy order from NGEL, marking Suzlon’s spectacular return to the PSU customer segment,” said Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group.

“The project will be the largest wind energy project by a public sector enterprise in Gujarat and will consolidate the state’s leadership in renewable energy. Once completed, it will set a new benchmark for future projects and contribute significantly to India’s energy self-sufficiency, economic prosperity and NGEL’s ambitious goal of adding 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032,” Tanti added.
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply wind turbines (equipment supply) and execute the project including construction and commissioning in Gujarat and will also undertake post commissioning operation and maintenance services.
Suzlon’s shares have nearly doubled this year and more than tripled last year.
