This is why Web3 stakeholders always insist on the importance of digital ownership. Without internet ownership, users would be bound to her Web2 platform that accumulates them. When everything they’ve created and accomplished, and even the community they’re a part of, is owned by the platform, it’s not as simple as just picking up, moving on, and starting anew. In fact, the more value a creator creates on her Roblox, the harder it will be for her to leave. This is a painful example of the injustice of online centralization and the need for a fairer internet that gives all users the right to say shit and walk away if they wish.
